Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen could take serious legal action against his club Serie A outfit Napoli.
The impending action is due to a series of videos mocking Osimhen following his penalty miss against Bologna on Sunday, September 24 at the Renato Dall’Ara.
The aforementioned match ended in a 0-0 draw which continued the team from Naples’ winless streak.
In the 72nd minute of the match following handball in the box Osimhen stepped up and failed to convert the penalty kick.
Following the match Napoli’s TikTok account has been laced with videos making mockery of Osimhen’s antics during the game.
Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda issued a statement condemning the action of the club.
“What happened on Napoli’s official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable. A video mocking Victor was first made public and then but now belatedly deleted,” the statement reads.
“A serious fact that causes damage to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news.
“We reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor.”
Osimhen has scored three goals in five Serie A appearances in the 2023/24 season.
Napoli are seventh on the Serie A table with eight points after five games in the division.
