OTD in 1992: Denmark beat Germany 2-0 to be crowned European champions (video)
OnĀ June 26 1992 Denmark pulled off an upset to beat favourites Germany 2-0 in the UEFA Euro final.
The game was played in front of 37,800 fans in attendance at Ullevi, Gothenburg in Sweden.
Demark went ahead as early as the 18th minute in the game thanks to a ferocious shot by John Jensen.
Germany responded by dominating the game looking for the equalizer with Denmark staying back to exploit their defense on the counter-attack.
Peter Schmeichel was the hero for Denmark with so many outstanding saves to deny the Germans.
Denmark sealed the win in the 78th minute when Kim Vilfort dribbled two German defenders before slotting past the goalkeeper with his left foot.
