Police have arrested an 18-year-old undergraduate who specialises in scamming e-commerce or online stores with fake bank alert as payment each time he purchases items.
The Commander of Rapid Response Squad in Lagos, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Tunji Disu shared the story by his twitter page.
He said the suspect orders expensive items such as latest editions of iPhones, Apple watches among other items and “pay” for the items with fake bank alert.
His tweet reads;
“An 18yr old 100 level student of a Uni, an expert in conning online stores, he orders expensive gadgets and “pays” with fake alerts. He uses an iPhone 11 Pro Max (N370k), iWatch series 3 (N115k) & iPhone X (N193k) all gotten thru fake alerts. He claims it’s the work of the devil.”
