Portuguese club, Boavista have celebrated Nigerian defender Bruno Onyemaechi’s first invitation to the Super Eagles coach by Jose Peseiro for the friendly match against Portugal.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are set to take on the Selecao of Portugal on November 17 at Estadio Jose Alvalade stadium.

Onyemaechi was on the list of players invited for the game along with others like Alex Iwobi, Victor Osimhen, William Troost-Ekong, Moses Simon, Francis Uzoho, Tyrone Ebuehi, Paul Onuachu, Olisa Ndah, Wilfred Ndidi, Oghenekaro Etebo, Bright Osayi Samuel, Calvin Bassey, Kevin Akpoguma, Joe Aribo, Ademola Lookman, Maduka Okoye and Adebayo Adeleye.

Boavista lauded Onyemaechi on Twitter after the list was released.

“Bruno Onyemaechi makes his debut for the Nigeria national team,” the club Tweeted.

Onyemaechi has made nine appearances in the Premeira Liga for Boavista this season.

Onyemaechi was in Portuguese club, Feirense’s U-23 squad between 2018 and 2021, though he was on loan to Villarreal in the 2020/21 season.

He played for Feirense in the 2021/22 season and he is currently on loan to Boavista.
