President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the renaming of the Agbor Railway Complex after former President Goodluck Jonathan.
The Honourable Minister of Transport and former Governor of Rivers State confirmed this development via a tweet during the test running of 10 new coaches purchased for the railway.
The Minister said;
“Today, we continued test-run of our new coaches on the completed Itakpe-Warri standard gauge rail line. We’ve named the largest station on this route – the Agbor railway facility and station after former President Goodluck Jonathan.”
The Agbor Railway Complex is part of the the Warri-Itakpe rail line and it will serve as an operational base when it begins commercial operations.
Former Military President, General Ibrahim Babangida began ghe6 Warri-Itakpe Rail line in 1987 before ex-President Goodluck Jonathan did some level of work on it as while while he was in power before it was finally completed by President Buhari.
The Rail line is 347km long.
