President Tinubu Showers Cash, National Honors, And Flats On Super Falcons

Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has rewarded the Super Falcons after their victorious outing at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where they clinched their 10th title.

The president hosted the team and their officials at the Presidential Villa after they arrived in Abuja from Rabat on Monday afternoon, where they were received by fans and government officials.

President Tinubu described the Super Falcons as “national heroes,” praising them for making the country proud while also inspiring the continent.

You didn’t just win a trophy; you won the hearts of Nigerians. You have made our country proud and inspired millions across the continent,” he said.

In recognition and celebration of their monumental achievements, the president rewarded each player of the team with $100,000, a three-bedroom flat, and an Officer of the Order of Naija (OON) award.

Members of the coaching staff were not left out of the largesse, as each member of the team received an OON national award, a three-bedroom flat, and $50,000 each.

The Super Falcons came from two goals down to secure a 3-2 victory over Morocco at the Rabat Olympic Stadium on Saturday night.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Governors’ Forum also gifted the players, the coaches, and members of the administrative and technical staff N10 million each.

Monday’s “Showers of Blessing” also included one million naira each for all the players donated by six members of the Super Eagles: captain William Troost-Ekong, Ademola Lookman, Ola Aina, Leon Balogun, Alex Iwobi, and Joseph Ayodele-Aribo.
