Nigeria’s top scorer this season, Paul Onuachu has given coach Gernot Rohr another reason why he should be on the Super Eagles main list ahead of the AFCON qualifiers against Benin Republic and Lesotho later this month.
Paul Onuachu bagged his 27th goal of the season as he scored the first goal of Genk’s 2-1 victory over Anderlecht in the semi-finals of the Belgian Cup.
He gave his side the lead in the 17th minute as he tapped the ball into an empty net.
The brilliant form of the 26 years old this season has refused to leave the headlines due to his consistency in front of goal and the omission of his name from the main list of the Super Eagles ahead of the qualifiers.
Paul Onuachu and Henry Onyekuru who got a brace over the weekend among four other players are on Gernot Rohr’s stand-by list of the qualifiers later this month.
