Rodgers blames Ndidi and Iheanacho’s concentration after Leicester City’s loss to Newcastle United

There is news about Super Eagles of Nigeria players Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho at Leicester City.

Iheanacho and Ndidi were both in action as Leicester City suffered a 4-2 loss to Newcastle United in a Premier League fixture played at the King Power Stadium on Friday, May 7th.

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers blamed his team including Ndidi and Iheanacho for their concentration in the loss.

In the 63rd minute, Wilfred Ndidi was substituted for Ayoze Perez.

In the 72nd minute, Kelechi Iheanacho received a yellow card and was on target in the 87th minute for their second goal.

Speaking about their concentration, Rodgers said, “For that, we got punished. They’ve got top players who can hurt you. That was the biggest disappointment. We kept going until the very end. I was proud of the team in terms of the fact that we didn’t sink. Sometimes at 3-0 or 4-0 down, the team can stop running, stop working, but they showed their spirit.

“We scored two goals and we could have had five goals ourselves tonight. The ‘keeper made a few great saves, but you’re never going to win a game if you defend like that and make those mistakes and, unfortunately, that punished us.”
