Arsenal and Gabon’s captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, just like some of his colleagues in the Premier League, has lent his voice on the #EndSARS and #EndPoliceBrutality in the country.
The 31-year-old said he draws his identity and inspiration from Africa but he is devasted and unhappy as a result of the killings in the Republic Congo, Cote D’Ivoire as well as in Nigeria and other places in Africa.
Aubameyang said the continent deserves justice. He also believes that the continent deserves better than what it’s currently experiencing.
However, he calls for peace in all the affected countries.
Aubameyang said this on his verified Twitter page.
Africa, you are my inspiration, my identity, my family, my home!! That’s why I carry you on my back! I am devastated and heartbroken to see what’s going on in Nigeria, Congo, Ivory Coast, so many places. This continent deserves better – deserves justice!!
You are not alone my brothers and sisters, the world is witness! I’m sending strength and love to everyone protesting and standing for peace – you do not stand alone ✊🏾🙏🏾#EndPoliceBrutality #PeaceFirst
