The 9th Republic Senate has urged President Mohammadu Buhari to rename the Ibadan Airport after the late Oyo State Senator, Senator Abiola Ajimobi who died on the 25th of June.
The motion was moved by the Senator representing Oyo North, Abdulfatai Buhari and was seconded by Senator Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State.
The Red Chamber of the Senate also observed a minute silence for the ex-Governor who also served as a Senator between 2003 and 2007.
In addition, the Senate have also decided to send a delegation to commiserate with the family of Abiola Ajimobi and the people of Oyo State.
However, it seems many Nigerians disagree with the Senate as regards renaming the Airport after him. See reactions here 👇
