American tennis superstar Serena Williams has been knocked out of the 2020 US Open by Victoria Azarenka.
Serena was knocked out of the tournament in the semifinal by Azarenka in the early hours of Friday, September 11th.
Azarenka battled to her first victory over Serena Williams in a major with coming back from a set to win.
The score was 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 in what was a thrilling encounter.
Azarenka ended a 7-year, 5-day gap between major final appearances with the win.
Azarenka will now face Naomi Osaka in the final of the women’s US Open event.
