Should Premier League Player of the month winner Kelechi Iheanacho sign an extension with Leicester City?

On Friday, April 2nd it was announced that Super Eagles of Nigeria forward Kelechi Iheanacho is the Premier League Player of the Month for March.

Iheanacho beat other nominees such as Luke Shaw, Leandro Trossard, Jesse Lingard, Riyad Mahrez, Illan Meslier, Andreas Christensen and Harry Kane to the award.

Iheanacho joins Peter Odemwingie, Odion Ighalo, and Jay-Jay Okocha to become the fourth Nigerian player to win the award.

Speaking to the Leicester City website Iheanacho said, “I’m so pleased and honored to win this award. It’s great to be recognized, but I couldn’t have done it without the support of my team-mates and the manager.

“I’m really enjoying playing at the minute and hopefully I can push on and help the team to finish as high as possible this season.”

In March Iheanacho scored five goals in three games, a hat-trick in a 5-0 win against Sheffield, a stunning volley away at Burnley, and the equalizer against Brighton & Hove Albion.

There are now reports that Kelechi Iheanacho is set for a bumper rise with an extension tabled at Leicester City.

However, Iheanacho has to make a decision on how he will proceed for the rest of his career.

Iheanacho was touted to be the next big thing at his time at Manchester City and expected to continue his development at Leicester City.

That was not the case, as Iheanacho had to stay behind club legend Jamie Vardy.

It even got to a point whereby Leicester City was shopping him to several teams.
