Alaafin of Oyo’s letter to put an end to the on going crisis in the Ekiti state council of Obas has a take a surprising dramatic twist.
About 48 hours after the Alaafin of Oyo: Oba Lamidi Adeyemi wrote to Governor Kayode Fayemi on the growing crisis in the state council of Obas, the Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti has responded fiercely to the Alaafin of Oyo in a letter dated 14th March, 2020.
The Monarch accused the Alaafin of interfering in the traditional affairs of Ekiti State. The Monarch also said that Ekiti State is not and will never be part of the Oyo Empire.
Some of the excerpt of the letter reads that: “The letter of Oba Adeyemi contains misrepresentation of facts and inaccurate accounts of events between the State Government and the traditional institution in the state…”
