Legendary Nigerian forward Daniel Amokachi has expressed confidence the Super Eagles will come back with the three points against Sierra Leone in Freetown on Tuesday.

The Eagles squandered a four-goal lead to draw 4-4 against the Leone Stars in Friday’s Group L 2021 AFCON qualifier in Benin City.

Despite the draw, the Eagles still top the group on seven points while Sierra Leone are third on two points.

However, Amokachi is confident the Eagles will overcome the setback and secure all three points.

“Are we beating Sierra Leone, 100 per cent, by the special grace of God,” the 1994 AFCON winner said in his programme ‘Bull’s Pit’ on Brila FM on Monday.

“Are we coming back with the three points, we are coming back with the three points.

“I know being a Nigerian, I am a Nigerian, my blood is Nigerian, my blood is green white green. If we go to Sierra Leone and don’t come back with the three  points then those players are not Nigerians. Because as a Nigerian you know how it is when there is pressure, when there are stakes that’s when we shine.

“I’ve been on the field, I’ve been on the bench and seen panic and we still go away and come back with the three points because that’s what we are, that’s how God made us to be.

“So, are they coming back with the three points I don’t have a doubt that we would come back with the three points. It’s only when the technical bench doesn’t do what they need to do.

“But with the quality and calibre, the state of mind of the players, we should come back with the three points.”

Meanwhile, Benin Republic edged Lesotho 1-0 on Saturday to record their second win and go second on six points, one behind group leaders Nigeria.
