If you are close to Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, you might watch to check on him if he’s not having a selection “headache” as we speak considering the Simy Nwankwo and his fellow Nigerian strikers have been scoring for fun this season.
Simy Nwankwo once again found the back of the net as he registered his 17th goal of the season in Crotone’s 1-2 loss at home to Udinese on Saturday afternoon.
The lanky striker scored via the spot-kick in the 68th minute as he restored parity in the game the home side failed to hand on as they yet again lost all three points for the 24th time this season.
Simy Nwankwo who currently holds the record for the most goals scored by a Nigerian in Serie A with 17 as also equaled Yakubu Aiyegbeni’s record of the most goals (17) scored by an Nigerian in a single season of a top-five European league this century.
It looks certain that Crotone might relegate from Serie A with seven games to go before the end of the season, Simy Nwankwo will most likely play in the Serie A or any of the top-five leagues in Europe next season.
