After the big North-east derby of English football between Liverpool and Manchester United finished goalless at Anfield on Sunday, multiple award-winning journalist Mumini Alao declared on this week’s episode of Sports Planet Podcast that Manchester City pose the biggest threat to Liverpool’s hope of retaining the Premier League title this season.
Alao, a long-time Liverpool fan told programme anchor Kayode Ogundare that Man United edged the game at Anfield but reckons that they may just fall short of winning a first Premier League title since 2013 when former manager Sir Alex Ferguson retired.
He said: “…Manchester City went through a particularly rough patch at the beginning of the season and, all of a sudden, they are here with the chance to go top by Wednesday if they beat Aston Villa. They have arguably the strongest squad so I agree with analysts tipping them for the title.”
