Super Eagles edge closer to World Cup playoffs after laboured victory over Liberia!

The Super Eagles are one point away from qualifying for the playoffs of the 2022 FIFA World Cup after they picked another victory away from.

In what can be described as poor performance by the Super Eagles, two penalties early and late in the game secured a 2 mil victory for the team over Liberia.

Victor Osimhen scored his third goal of the series after he converted from his six yards while captain Ahmed Musa who came off the bench scored his first goal in over two years.

The Super Eagles are now one point away from securing a ticket into the playoff rounds of the World Cup. Gernot Rohr’s men are on 12 points while Cape Verde are on 10 courtesy of their comeback victory over the Central African Republic in Mindelo.

A victory or a draw against Cape Verde in Lagos on Tuesday will guarantee the team a place in the final round of qualification.
