Super Eagles of Nigeria touch down in Sierra Leone for 2022 AFCON qualifier, see pictures
In the afternoon of Monday, November 16th, Nigeria’s delegation to the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone arrived in Freetown.
The Super Eagles took a chartered flight from Benin City to Sierra Leone.
They arrived the Sierra Leonean capital after a 30-minute ferry ride on the Atlantic from the International Airport in Lungi.
Players and officials were received by the Charge d’Affaires of the Nigeria High Commission, Mr. Sona Charles, the Consular Mr. Paul Alabi and some members of the Sierra Leone Football Association.
They went through a COVID-19 test right at the airport and they all returned negative.
The game is scheduled for Tuesday, November 18th.
