Super Eagles’ Ola Aina Undergoes Successful Surgery After Injury Sustained On International Duty

Super Eagles defender Ola Aina has revealed that his surgery was successful and he’s now on the process of recovering.

Ola Aina sustained an hamstring injury against South Africa in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Toyota Stadium in Blomfontein on September 13.

The Nottingham Forest defender shared the update on his Instagram post as he he thanked the club, his teammates and the fans for the their well wishes.

Aina also expressed gratitude to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the fans for their support as well before and after the surgery.

“Surgery went really well and recovery is going smoothly. Looking forward to WHAM. A massive thank you to the club, @officialnffc, my teammates, and all the fans for the incredible for the past few days, it’s meant a lot,” Aina wrote.

Ola Aina is expected to miss Super Eagles World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho, Benin Republic as well as the international friendly match against Venezuela in November.

He’s also set a couple of games for Nottingham Forest within the given period but will be race against time to be fit for the Africa Cup of Nations in December.
