Super Eagles squad shrinks as Osimhen, Sanusi others withraw from Cameroun friendly in Austria!

Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr might have a tough time preparing his team for the friendly match against Indomitable Lions of Cameroun as key players continue to opt-out of the match.

With less than four days to the friendly scheduled to be played in Austria, six of the nine defenders called for the match have pulled out to injuries which leaves the German tactician with 18 players to prosecute games.

Germot Rohr had initially invited 31 players for the match earlier in the month but the list was pruned down to 23 later on.

However, the key players have been pulling out of the squad due to medical concerns.

Samuel Chukwueze, Victor Osimhen, Zaidu Sanusi, Tyronne Ebuehi, Ola Aina among other players are currently nursing/recovering from injuries sustained during the course of the just-concluded season in Europe.

With the absentees, the likes of Abraham Marcus who was recently voted as the best player in the Portuguese second division and Lorient’s Terem Moffi could get their first caps for the Super Eagles.

The Revised Super Eagles List

Goalkeepers: Francis Uzoho (APOEL Nicosia, Cyprus); John Noble (Enyimba FC); Maduka Okoye (Sparta Rotterdam, The Netherlands)
