Nigeria women’s senior national team, the Super Super Falcons recorded back to back wins over the Green Ladies of Algeria as they conclude the two-legged friendly matches.
The Super Falcons outclassed their Algerian counterpart in a one-sided affair at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan on Tuesday.
A hattrick from 23-year-old striker Folashade Ijamilusi and Gift Monday gave the Super Falcons a comprehensive 4-1 win over the Algerians.
Ijamilusi gave Nigeria the an early lead on the 10th minute after the Green Ladies failed to deal with a corner kick.
The striker got her second goal eight minute later from a sim9le tap-in after Gift Monday’s shot came off the bar.
The visitors had the opportunity to half the deficit on the 37th minute from the penalty spot but Lina Boussaha skied her shot over the bar.
Wassila Alouache eventually reduced the deficit a few minute to the end of half time with Algeria’s first shot on target.
Costa Adeje Tennerife forward, Gift Monday got on the scoresheet to restore Super Falcons two goal lead. Gift rose highest to head the ball into goal from a corner kick in added time of first half.
Gift Monday almost got her brace in the match after the restart but her ferocious shot came off the bar.
Folashade Ijamilusi got her hattrick on the 89th minute from another tap in after Algerian goalkeeper Amel Salah spilled the ball towards her.
The match ended 4-1 in favour of the Super Falcons as they round off the series with a 6-1 aggregate scoreline.
The friendly matches are in preparation for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations scheduled for Morocco between July 5-26, 2025.
