Super Falcons “Mission X” 24-Woman Squad Unveiled

Justin Madugu, coach of Nigeria senior women’s football team, the Super Falcons have released the list of players for next month’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Ashleigh Plumptre, Asisat Oshoala, Halimatu Ayinde and a handful of regulars made the list as the Super Falcons set their target on winning a record tenth title.

The list of consists of 24 players – foreign and local based as Justin Madugu opted for a blend of youthfulness and experience.

Osinachi Ohale, Ashleigh Plumptre, Tosin Demehin, Michelle Alozie are among the selected defenders.

Deborah Abiodun, Halimatu Ayinde, Christy Ucheibe, Toni Payne are among the preferred midfielders for the tournament.

As expected, veteran Asisat Oshoala returned to the team after a long absence as she looks to win her fifth WAFCON title.

Super Falcons Squad for 2025 WAFCON

The Super Falcons begin their quest to win a record 10th African title on July 5 against Tunisia before taking on Algeria and Botswana.

Meanwhile the Super Falcons will play Portugal and Ghana in preparation for the tournament.

Portugal will host the nine-time African champions while the match against Ghana will be be played in Morocco – host of the 15th edition.
