The Egyptian forward becomes the first Liverpool player to score a hattrick on Premier League opening day since John Aldridge did in the 1988-89 season.
He also becomes the first ever Liverpool player to score on the opening day of four consecutive league seasons; he’s only the second to do so in the League for any club, after Teddy Sheringham (1992-93 to 1995-96)
Salah celebrated his third by blocking his to ears with his hands – a tribute to former Egypt team-mate Moamen Zakaria, a Al Ahly player who had to retire from football after being diagnosed with incurable ALS Disease.
