Tokyo Olympics: Nigeria’s last competitor crashes out of wrestling 50kg event!

The sad tale of Nigerian athletes at the Tokyo Olympics has finally come to end after the country’s last competitor lost her fight in the women’s freestyle 50kg wrestling event.

Adijat Idris lost her quarterfinal match to the current European champion, Ukrainian,  Oksana Livach 10-0 by superiority.

Her loss comes days after medal hopeful, Odunayo Adekuoroye was knocked out in the women’s 57kg freestyle match by Moldova’s Anastasia Nichita

In addition, her loss brings the participation of Nigerian athletes to a close at the Tokyo Olympics which comes to an end on Sunday.

Adijat, who is competing at the Olympics for the first time will look to build on her experience in subsequent events.
