Tottenham 0-1 Everton: What excuse can we make for Jose Mourinho this time?

Jose Mourinho, for the first time in his managerial career, lost on the opening match day of a league season and this time, he lost to a familiar foe – Carlo Ancelotti.

The Italian saw off a famous victory at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium courtesy of a Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s goal in the second half.

Tottenham however, created more chances than the Toffees but failed to converted their chances. They created five shots on target, one better than Eveton.

The Portuguese manager with his signings so far is expected to hit the ground running this season but he has been handed a defeat already.

Two of many excuses given as regards his performance last season is that he’s yet to sign his own kind of players and he didn’t start the season with Tottenham.

Are there more excuses to be given?
