Dutch player of Nigerian descent, Tyronne Ebuehi has been picked by coach Gernot Rohr to replace injured Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi ahead of next month friendly matches against Algeria and Tunisia.
Ebuehi currently plays for FC Twente in the Dutch Erevidisie although he’s on loan from 37-time Primera Liga Champions, Benfica.
The 24-year-old versatile defender made his debut for the Super Eagles in a 3-0 win over Togo in a friendly match in 2017 and he was also part of Gernot Rohr’s 23-man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Tyrone Ebuehi plays as a right back but can also feature in a defensive midfield position as well and he will look to step into the shoes of Ndidi ahead of the friendly matches.
The Super Eagles will take on Algeria on the 9th of October and Tunisia four days later with both matches to be played at the same venue in Austria.
