Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface is very close to joining Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League with a few days to the end of the January transfer window.
Fabrizio Romano, the football transfer reporter, says the player has already consented to join Al Nassr as the deal nears completion.
He also added that Al Nassr and Bayer Leverkusen are in the final stage of negotiations as the deal’s financial details on both sides are being sorted.
Xabi Alonso confirmed that Leverkusen and Al Nassr are still negotiating the deal for Boniface. Consequently, Boniface has been excluded from the Champions squad ahead of tomorrow’s match against Sparta Prague.
“There is this situation, and I understand that. There are discussions with the club.”. “We have to wait. We’re preparing for the game without Boni, of course.”
Victor Boniface is yet to feature for Bayer Leverkusen this year. The striker recently returned from a two-month thigh injury.
However, the 24-year-old striker has been impressive in front of goal, scoring seven goals in 14 matches for the Bundesliga’s defending champions.
He was instrumental in Bayer Leverkusen’s historic 2023/2024 Bundesliga campaign, during which they won their first-ever league title with an unbeaten record.
Boniface scored 14 goals and provided eight assists in 23 matches en route to the historic feat.
