Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr has lauded Victor Osimhen’s move to Napoli and he believes the 21-year-old striker will do well in the club with his proven qualities.
He also added that Osimhen will be a more important player in the national team with the level of experience he is going to gain while playing for a top club like Napoli.
Victor Osimhen is a great player, he is very important to us and he will be even more so thanks to the experience that he will get in a top club like Napoli. Despite his young age, he has many qualities and will show them in Italy.
Gernot Rohr admitted that the young striker is not on the level of the legendary striker, Didier Drogba yet but has the potentials to be like him as he alluded that the former Flying Eagles striker is an excellent finisher.
Osimhen is not like Drogba yet, but he could become so by working hard to enhance his talents. He is intelligent and prepared, he knows how to adapt to his teammates and systems. He has body and speed, and above all he’s an excellent finisher.
Osimhen made his debut for the Super Eagles in a 3-0 win over the Hawks of Togo in a friendly match in 2017 and scored his debut goal in the 2-2 draw against Ukraine in September 2019.
