Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen has been named as the best international player at Ghana Football Awards. The Napoli striker beat the likes of Manchester City’s Riyad Mahrez, Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah and Sevilla’s goalkeeper, Yassine Bounou to win the award for the first time.
Victor Osimhen finished the 2022-2023 football season on a high as he helped Napoli win the Italian Serie A title for the first time in 33 years with 26 goals in 32 league matches. He was also named in the league’s best XI as he scooped the best striker of the league award as well.
The striker uploaded a video of appreciation after he was named winner of the award.

Osimhen, on the back of his brilliant season at Napoli has now been linked with a move away from the club. Recent reports in Italy claim the 24-year-old striker is on the radar of Paris Saint, Bayern Munich as well as Premier League giants, Chelsea and Manchester City.
Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis last week, said only a substantial bid will make the club to consider selling the Super Eagles striker this summer. He added that the club and the player have agreed in principle to extend his deal by two years.
The Super Eagles striker is currently in Nigeria on holiday.
