The attendance figure was (and still is) a record crowd for a soccer match played in the United States.
Ashley Young scored twice and Javier Hernandez once in the emphatic pre-season win for the Red Devils. Gareth Bale scored what turned out to be a consolatory goal for Los Blancos.
Ultimately none of them won the prestigious pre-season multi-national competition but the quality of football on offer was worth every penny for the record crowd on the day.
