The charming and handsome soccer star from Belfast, Northern Ireland played for Manchester United for a larger part of his career where he achieved fame.

George Best played for Manchester United between 1963-1974 where he scored 179 goals in 490 appearances for the Red Devils where he won multiple honours (football and academic) which include the 1968 European Cup triumph.

On the flip side, he was not just popular for his great football talent but for excessive consumption of alcohol and his flamboyant lifestyle.

The Northern Irish man could have turned 74 today but he died from liver and multiple organ failure in 2005.
