At the 2018 African Nations Championship in Morocco, the home-based Super Eagles of Nigeria recorded labored to a 2-1 victory over Angola

The game was played on January 28, 2018, at the Stade Ibn Batouta, Tangier.

The first half ended goalless but Va gave Angola the lead in the 56th minute, Anthony Okpotu equalized for Nigeria in the 92nd minute before Gabriel Okechukwu Goal scored the winner in the 109th minute.
