The Super Eagles of Nigeria started their campaign at the 1992 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with a 2-1 victory over host country Senegal on January 12, 1992.
The Super Eagles were favourites and went ahead in the 13th minute through forward Samson Siasia but Senegal came back in the first half through Jules Bocandé in the 36th minute.
The Super Eagles would eventually get the winner through captain Stephen Keshi in the 89th minute to get all three points at the Stade de l’Amitié, Dakar.
