What Super Eagles Must Do To Qualify For 2026 World Cup – Iheanacho

Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has revealed what he and his teammates need to do to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Iheanacho believes that the team can qualify for the tournament despite their poor start to the qualifiers.

The 27-year-old says he and his teammates need to approach the remaining six games in the qualification series with “red eyes” – strong determination.

The Sevilla forward made the comment in an interview with Nigerian photojournalist Modo Victor during a recent interview.

“We just have to know that this thing (World Cup qualification) is very important to us and we need these games, we need to win these games. We need to take a put our feets on the ground”

“We have a strong squad to deal with these countries so we need to just go there with red eye and win all these games”

The Super Eagles are currently 5th in Group C with 3 points after three consecutive draws against Lesotho, Zimbabawe , South Africa and a loss to Benin Republic.

The 2026 World Cup qualification resumes next year and the Super Eagles will look to rejig their fortunes when they take on Rwanda and Zimbabwe in March 2025.
