Who is Gabrielle Xlander?

Gabrielle Xlander became popular online after a video of her abusing a child surfaced online. She worked for the New York Office for mental health when the incident happened.

The former New York State Office of Mental Health employee was sentenced to five years probation after pleading guilty to attempted second-degree assault.

On February 22, 2022, Gabrielle Xlander was charged with assault in the second degree, a severe felony, and attempted assault in the second degree and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors.

The accusations were filed after a video of Xlander punching a 5-year-old child leaked online. Xlander was reported to authorities by the individual who recorded her.

After the charges were filed, Michael Korchak, the Broome County District Attorney said some of the programs Gabrielle Xlander will undergo while under probation will include counseling, and drug abuse among others.

“The probation will entail any counseling [and] any programs that are required by the department of probation, as well as drug and alcohol treatment if necessary,” said Broome County District Attorney Michael Korchak, regarding the case.

Xlander informed Judge Joseph Cawley that she takes the sentencing process seriously.

“I’m very sorry for what I did,” she admitted.

Xlander stated that she is seeking help for her mental health and substance usage.

Where is Gabrielle Xlander now?

Since the incident happened, Gabrielle Xlander has not appeared in the news. It is uncertain if she is still under probation or not. Usually, probation lasts between six months to a year or more based on the gravity of the offense in the United States.
