Eden Rebecca Sher is an American actress who is best known for her performances as Sue Heck on The Middle (2009–2018) and Star Butterfly on Star vs. the Forces of Evil (2015–2019). Eden Sher was born in the city of Los Angeles in the state of California on the 26th of December 1991.  Her single mother, a schoolteacher, raised her as a devout Jew. She has two brothers, one elder and one younger.

At the age of eight, she began her acting career by performing in school plays, local theatre performances, and singing in the primary school chorus. Her passion for acting began when she was a child.

In the Showtime comedy-drama series Weeds, Eden Sher played Gretchen, a middle school love interest for one of the major characters, Alexander Gould. She landed a regular role as Carrie Fenton on Sons & Daughters later that year, but the show was cancelled 11 episodes into its first season.

In the final season of the Fox drama series The O.C., Sher played a student at Harbor High. She also appeared in the short film Stuck, which was released in 2001, as well as television commercials for Capital One.

Eden Sher didn’t attain popularity until she got a position as Sue Heck on the ABC comedy series The Middle. Sher played Sue Heck, a quirky yet hopeful adolescent, on the ABC comedy series The Middle from 2009 until 2018. For her part in The Middle, she earned the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2013.

On May 30, 2018, it was revealed that an ABC spin-off based on Eden Sher’s character Sue Heck was in the works and close to receiving a pilot order, with a midseason premiere planned. Sher confirmed that the network had ordered a pilot for the possible series in an interview with TVLine’s Michael Ausiello on July 20, 2018 which could launch in 2019. 

The possible series was given the title Sue Sue In The City on October 5, 2018, however this choice was later overruled, and the series is now nameless. [11] ABC, on the other hand, declared on November 21, 2018 that the proposed spinoff would not be developed.
