While many are citing the arrival of James Rodriguez, Abdoulaye Dacoure and Allan are reasons Iwobi should leave, here are a few thoughts on why he should stay.

1 Given his age, Iwobi is an extremely talented player, he is someone who could potentially improve further in the coming years.

2 Everton cannot recoup the large majority of the money that they spent on him last summer.

3 Carlo Ancelloti is one of the best coaches in the world and can help improve his game.

4 Iwobi has been utilized in most instances as a midfielder but does not possess the creativity to do so, the arrival of Rodriguez ends that and will get Iwob in to play in his right position which is on the wings.

5 Competition is key for his development and being around some of the best players would help improve his game as the Everton project is inspiring.

6 It is just one season as we have seen time and again, several players perform better in their second season.

Iwobi who is regarded as the heir to the retired Mikel Obi in the Super Eagles needs to revive his career at Everton to take up a talismanic role with Nigeria.
