Why we want you to stay at Barcelona – Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos reaches out to Lionel Messi!

Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos has appealed to Lionel Messi to stay at Barcelona with the Argentine captain look set to leave the club after two years of service.

Sergio Ramos believes that Lionel Messi is still needed at Barcelona and the League in its entirety still needs the presence of the six-time Ballon D’or winner.

In as much as both players are rivals, the Real Madrid captain wants the Barcelona legend to stay at the club for the sake of the players in the league and the image of the league itself.

According to Sergio Ramos;

For the Spanish game and for Barcelona and for the rest of us, we’d like Messi to stay as we always want the best around,” Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos explained. 🥰

Messi’s imminent departure from Barcelona comes on the back of his displeasures with how the club’s hierarchy has managed the affairs the club for the past few years.

Barcelona’s embarrassing 8-2 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League as well as ending the just concluded season trophyless for the first time since the 2007/2008 season under Frank Rijkaard.

On his contract situation, Jorge Messi, his father and agent arrived in Barcelona yesterday morning and held talks with Barcelona chiefs for 90 minutes but the meeting ended in a statement according to sources.

In addition, Messi’s father was quoted to have said;

My son doesn’t want to stay here

Another report suggests that Barcelona has reached a compromise to let their captain go for £100m as opposed to his release clause over £600m.
