Wilfred Ndidi speaks on Manchester United, Arsenal interest after getting new agent

Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has changed his agent.

Ndidi has signed up with Octagon having previously been with the Germany-based FirstEleven International Sports Management firm.

Rory Rebbeck, an agent with Octagon, said on social media platform LinkedIn that he was ‘delighted’ to announce that Ndidi has signed up with his stable.

He says that Ndidi has ‘many great years ahead on and off the field’.

Ndidi has been heavily linked with a move away from Leicester City since he signed for the club from Belgian side Genk back in 2017.

Valued at around £54 million according to website Transfermarkt, Ndidi signed a mega six-year contract in 2018 that will keep him at the King Power Stadium until 2024.

Manchester United and Arsenal have been credited with an interest in the Nigeria international, who started City’s first six matches before picking up a hamstring injury that kept him out of the last four games.

In a boost for Bredan Rodgers, he returned to the substitute’s bench for the game against Arsenal last time out.

Ndidi addressed transfer talk surrounding him last year, telling ESPN: “We are doing well and I am enjoying myself here.

“I still have a contract with Leicester. I am learning and trying to improve myself every day and I am doing OK here, so no need to go anywhere.”

Rated by City fans as one of the best players in their side, Rodgers reckons that they could not replace Ndidi whether he leaves the club or is out injured.

“It’s impossible to find what we have,” Rodgers said of the 24 year-old.

“We’ve got good players, but specifically the job he does in breaking up play and just his overall defending and in the box, he’s irreplaceable for us.

We have a number of other good players, we just need to find a different way. That’s also part of the point, as I said earlier in the season, for bringing Boubakary Soumare into the squad, because he gives us that physicality. But Wilf’s a really unique and fabulous player.”
