Will Germany finally sack Joachim Low after shock home defeat by North Macedonia?

On Wednesday, March 30th Germany suffered a 2-1 defeat to North Macedonia in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

stretching 35 games back to their 5-1 defeat at the hands of England in 2001 It was their first defeat in a World Cup qualifier for 20 years.

In their group, Germany are in third place after three games after the loss against the 65th-ranked team an upset nobody saw coming.

With an absolute horror miss for Germany, Timo Werner’s tough time in front of goal but the story is not about him but Joachim Low who was unable to hide his frustration.

Low led Germany to a semifinal spot at the 2012 Euros and later steered them to win the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Since then they faltered at Euro 2016 and were embarrassed by being knocked out of the 2018 FIFA World Cup as defending champions in the group stage.

Low had a contract with Germany until the 2022 FIFA World Cup but decided he would step down after the 2021 Euros.

However with qualification for the 2022 World Cup now a possibility it is perhaps time for Low to step down after several years in charge of Germany.
