Esther Omolayo Kolawole, a Nigerian amateur wrestler, won a bronze medal in the World Wrestling Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.
After being pinned in the semi-finals by Kristina Mikhneva, Kolawole, 19, bounced back with a solid 9-8 triumph against Patrycja Gil of Poland.
The Nigerian women’s wrestling team is adding to their 2021 medal tally, which includes a gold medal at the World Wrestling Championships in Poland earlier this year and a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics this summer.
