Super Eagles star striker Victor Osimhen believes he is very close to scoring his first goal for Galatasaray after putting up another impressive performance for the Turkish champions in the Europa League on Wednesday.
Osimhen was in action for seventy-eight minutes as Galatasaray beat PAOK 3-1 in their opening Europa League fixture at Rams Park.
The 25-year-old striker thought he had given Galatasaray the lead three minutes after the restart but the goal was adjuged to be an own goal by Ghanian defender Abdul Rahman Rahman.
He went on to provide the assist to Yunis Akgun’s 78th minute goal as the home side took the lead again.
Galatasaray won the match 3-1 as Mauro Icardi who came on for Osimhen in added time, sealed the victory.
While speaking to the club’s official website after the match, he said he’s quite confident his goals will come.
He also thanked the fans for their unwavering support towards him and the club.
“Unfortunately, it was an own goal again,” Osimhen told Galatasaray’s official website.
“I feel it, my goal is very close. The most important thing is for Galatasaray to win.”
“I would also like to thank the fans,” he added.
“We need to continue winning in the league and Europe.”
Osimhen is on a season-long loan at Galatasaray from Napoli.
