Lookman Scores Late Winner As AC Milan Fall To Atalanta At Bergamo

Ademola Lookman got on the scoresheet late innthe match as Atalanta edged AC Milan at the Gewiss Stadium on Friday night in a Serie A fixture.

The Nigerian winger scored on the 86th mimute to secure a 2-1 home win for Atalanta over Paulo Fonseca’s men at Bergamo.

Charles De Ketelaere gave the home side the lead on the 12th minute with brilliant header from a corner kick.

However, the lead only lasted eleven minutes as the visitors equalized through Alvaro Morata’s goal on the 23rd minute.

Rafael Leao laid a wonderful pass to the Spanish striker who simply placed thw ball into the back of the net.

Mike Maignan had quite a busy night in goal as he made saves to deny the home side on a couple of times.

The French goalkeeper denied Mario Pasalic’s goal-bound shot from the box 10 minutes to the break to keep the scoreline unchanged.

Atalanta were the better side going into the secind half as they moves the ball with purpose and the intention to break the visitors.

The second half was quite uneventful until Ademola Lookman forced a save off Mike Maignan. The Super Eagles forward bent his shit towards the far right corner but was denied by Maignan’s sublime save.

However, Maignan had no response to Lookaman’s second attempt at goal a few minutes later, this time the 27-old-chosed to use his head.

Lookaman rose highest in the box to power home a thumping header into the back of the net from Sead Kolasinac’s corner-kick.

Mateo Retegui also replicated Lookaman’s initial effort but Maignan once again put up a fantastic save to deny the young Italian striker.

Lookman’s winner put an end to AC Milan’s seven-match unbeaten run and it also ensures that Atalanta are still a point off league leaders and defending champions Inter Milan who dispatched Parma 3-1 in the an earlier fixture.
