Maduka Okoye has successfully undergone a surgical operation to repair his injured right wrist.
Okoye injured his right wrist in Udinese’s 2-0 home loss to Genoa in a recent Serie A match where he played the entire duration.
Udinese in a statement via its website on Tuesday confirmed that surgery took place in the city of Milan and was conducted by Dr. Loris Pegoli at the renowned La Madonnina Clinic.
“Maduka Okoye underwent surgery to repair the injury to the scapholunate ligament of his right wrist,” the club confirmed.
“The operation, performed by Dr. Loris Pegoli at the “La Madonnina” clinic in Milan, was a complete success. The footballer will begin rehabilitation in the coming weeks.”
The 25-year-old is expected to back in action after he completes his rehabillitation program in a few weeks.
In Okoye’s absence, Udinese ended their five-game winless streak with a 2-1 win away at Monza on Monday evening.
Lorenzo Lucca and Luka Bijol scored in each half to give Udinese the victory.
Udinese currently occupy the 9th spot on the Serie A log with 20 points after 15 matches.
Maduka Okoye will look to get back in between the sticks soon to continue his impressive run for the club since the start of the season.
