Remo Stars have appointed Olumide Ajibolade as their new head coach, promoting him from within the club’s football development structure. The former Nigeria Premier Football League champions suffered relegation last season under Usman Ab’dallah, having lifted the title two seasons ago.
Ajibolade joined the Remo Stars project in 2019 as U-17 head coach at the club’s academy. He took charge of Beyond Limits Football Academy following its establishment in 2021 and built it into one of Nigeria’s most successful development projects.
Beyond Limits dominated the TCC League under his guidance, winning five titles in six seasons between 2020/21 and 2025/26. Ajibolade also led the club to back-to-back TCC Cup triumphs in 2023/24 and 2024/25, claimed the TCC Super Cup in 2025, and won the Ogun State FA Cup in 2024 and 2026.
His impact stretched beyond academy football. Ajibolade guided Beyond Limits from the Nationwide League One to the Nigeria National League in 2022/23, then engineered another promotion to the NPFL the following season. That campaign ended with the club crowned Nigeria National League champions in Enugu.
His teams have also flown Nigeria’s flag abroad, winning the Viareggio Cup in Italy in 2024 and the Gothia Cup in Sweden in both 2025 and 2026. Several players who came through his system have gone on to professional careers in Europe and beyond.
Remo Stars say the appointment reflects their commitment to rewarding talent developed within the club’s own structure. Ajibolade now takes charge of the Sky Blue Stars as they plan a return to the top flight.
