The Super Eagles of Nigeria have landed back in Nigeria following their victory over Guinea-Bissau in an African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match.
The Super Eagles defeated the Djurtus 1-0 on Monday, March 27 at the Estadio 24 de Setembro.
Moses Simon scored the lone goal of the game in the 30th minute from the penalty spot after Bright Osayi-Samuel was fouled in the 18 yard box.
The Super Eagles announced their return on their Twitter handle.
“We’re back home with 3 points! GNB 0-1 NGA #AFCON2023Q,” the Tweet reads
The team have accumulated nine points after four games while Guinea-Bissau have seven points from the same number of games.
Nigeria will play Sierra Leone next on June 12 at the Sierra Leone National Stadium.
The 2023 Afcon will be held in Ivory Coast between January and February 2024.
The Super Eagles have won Afcon three times (1980, 1994 and 2013).
