Ademola Lookman was the “Man of the Match” as Atalanta got their first win in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
The Super Eagles winger scored and provided an assist as the Europa League defending champions beat Shakhtar Donestk 3 nil in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
Berat DJimsiti got on the end of Ademola Lookman’s cross to give Atalanta the lead on the 21st minute.
Lookaman got his goal just before halftime as he latched on to a well-timed pass by Sead Kolasinac into box to double Atalanta’s lead.
Raoul Bellanova compunded the miseries of the home side as he scored the third goal via a brilliant header from Davide Zappacosta’s cross a few minutes after the restart.
The 26-year-old forward was on for an hour before he was replaced by young Italian striker Mateo Retegui.
