Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has been voted the Atalanta’s Player of the Season by fans of the Italian Serie A club. The announcement was made on the official Twitter page of the club on Monday.
Lookman had an impressive debut season in the Italian Serie A after he joined the club from Leicester City last summer. The Nigerian winger was instrumental to Atalanta’s successful season as they qualified for next season’s Europa League.
The 25-year-old took to his Instgram page to appreciate the fans who voted for him.

The Nigerian winger scored 16 goals, provided six assists in 33 games for Gian Piero Gasperini‘s side as they finished 5th behind champions, Napoli, Lazio, Inter Milan and AC Milan.
He scored on his debut in a 2-0 win over Sampdoria. One of his finest moments of the season was when he secured three consecutive braces in Atalanta’s a 8–2 Serie A win over Salernitana, a 5–2 Coppa Italia victory over Spezia and a 3–3 draw to Juventus in the league.
The former RB Leipzig winger could have added more to his tally but he was out of the team for about six weeks at some point in the season.
Ademola Lookman will look to improve on his performance going into the new football season. He is contracted to the club until 2026 after he signed a four-year deal with the Bergamo-based club in August 2022.
