Super Eagles defender, Williams Troost-Ekong is set to join Greek club PAOK on a three year deal after leaving championship side Watford.
The 29-year-old defender will have his medical at the club on Monday before signing a deal that will keep him at the former Greek champions until 2026.
The former Udinese defender spent the second half of last season on loan at Salernitana in the Italian Serie A where he featured 10 times due to injury and his non-availability on some matchdays.
With the Africa Cup of Nations about seven months away, Troost-Ekong will look to challenge for a place in the Super Eagles squad. His lack of adequate game time has seen him drop to the bench in recent matches.
The defender was an unused substitute in Nigeria’s 3-2 victory over Sierra Leone in Monrovia as the team qualified for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’ Ivoire.
Williams Troost-Ekong stands a chance of playing in Europe in the coming season with PAOK. The Greek club are currently in the second round of qualifiers where they will take on Israeli side Beitar Jerusalem.
