
Nigeria’s Super Eagles have been handed a seemingly tricky draw for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The draw was held on Tuesday afternoon, with former Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong as one of the guest appearances, who conducted the ceremony.
Nigeria will take on familiar foes in Group L as they look to qualify for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
The Super Eagles will get the chance to avenge their loss to Madagascar when they take on the Island nation in their opener in September.
Madagascar defeated the Super Eagles 2-0 at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations preliminary round.
Eric Chelle’s men will also face off against Guinea-Bissau and Tanzania for a place in Africa’s flagship football competition.
The qualifiers will run from September 2026 to March 2027 in a home-and-away format.
